Setting Up Source Connection: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Data Lake Sync portal allows admins to create Source Connections. Source Connections are Infor Data Lake instances and are created by uploading an ION API file. This article explains how to create an ION API file and how to upload to the Data Lake Sync portal. 


Step 1: Generate an ION API file

To generate an ION API file for the desired Infor tenant, execute the following steps:


1. Log in to Infor CloudSuite portal

2. Navigate to the OS application

3. Navigate to the API Gateway sub-application

4. Navigate to the Authorized Apps menu item

5. Press the '+' button at the top to create a new Authorized App and set the following information:

FieldValue
NameData Lake Sync
TypeBackend Service
DescriptionData Lake Sync
<All other fields><Default Value>


6. Press Save

7. Locate the Download Credentials button. This opens a popup box.

8. Enable the Create Service Account button

9. Do not change any other field. Note: Do not set a user in the Full Name field - this must be blank

10. Press Download to download the ION API file.


Step 2: Upload the ION API File to Data Lake Sync

To create the Source Connection, the ION API file must be uploaded. 


1. Log in to the Infor CloudSuite portal

2. Navigate to the Data Lake Sync application

3. Navigate to Source Connections

4. Create a new Source Connection

5. Set the Connection Name and upload the ION API file

6. Press Save.
