The Item dimension provides detailed information about inventory items within the Infor LN system. It consolidates key attributes that describe each item, including identification keys, descriptive names, classification by type and group, inventory units, costing details, and activity status. This dimension enables business leaders to understand the characteristics and cost structure of products available for sale or production, supporting informed decision-making around inventory management and cost control.

Output Column Database Logic Description
Item Key Concatenation of company number and item identifier to create a unique key for each item. This is a unique identifier for each inventory item combining the company code and the item code, ensuring each item is distinctly recognized across the organization.
Item Ranking Key Same concatenation as the Item Key, used for ranking or sorting items. Used for ordering or prioritizing items, this key is identical to the Item Key but enables specific sorting operations within reports or analytics.
Item Basic item code trimmed of whitespace. This is the code that identifies the item in your inventory system, cleaned of any extra spaces for accuracy.
Item Name Item description or name cleaned of extra spaces. The official name or description of the item, providing clear and understandable terminology for business and reporting purposes.
Item Type Description field from a lookup table defining the type/category of item. Classifies the item into types, helping your business categorize inventory based on its nature and purpose.
Item Group Inventory grouping classification as defined in the system. Groups similar items together, facilitating aggregated analysis and streamlined management of related products.
Product Variant Variant identifier for the product if applicable. Indicates a specific version or variation of a product, such as different sizes or colors, to better track inventory specifics.
Product Type Classification of the product type as maintained in the database. Categorizes products by type, assisting in product management and inventory segmentation.
Product Class Classification level denoting the product class. Defines a higher level grouping to classify products into broad classes for reporting and strategic analysis.
Product Line Product line classification, a grouping of related products. Represents a series or collection of related products, enabling business insights on grouped offerings.
Active Boolean indicator if the item is currently active. Indicates whether the item is currently active and available in the inventory system.
Deleted Boolean flag indicating if the item record has been marked as deleted. Shows if the item has been removed or marked inactive from active inventory lists.
Last Modified Datetime Timestamp indicating the most recent update of the item record. The date and time when the item’s information was last changed, ensuring data currency for analysis.
Cost Currency Currency code for costing information of the item. The currency in which the item costs are recorded, supporting consistent financial reporting.
Cost Deleted Boolean flag showing whether the cost associated with the item is deleted or not. Indicates if the costing information for an item has been invalidated or removed.
Costing Source Description of the origin of costing data for the item. Identifies how or where the cost data for this item was sourced, providing traceability of financial information.
Costing Type Description of the costing methodology applied. Specifies the method used to calculate the item’s cost, such as standard or actual costing.
Estimated General Costs Estimated overhead or general costs allocated to the item. Estimated indirect costs attributed to the item, reflecting overhead expenses associated with production or procurement.
Estimated Material Cost Estimated cost of materials used for the item. Represents the anticipated cost of raw materials required to produce the item.
Estimated Operational Cost Estimated operational expenses related to the item. Anticipated costs related to operations, such as labor or utilities, linked to the item.
Estimated Standard Cost Overall estimated standard cost for the item combining various cost factors. The benchmark or expected cost of the item combining material, operational, and general costs.
Estimated Surcharges Estimated additional costs or surcharges applied to the item. Additional estimated charges added to the item cost, which may include taxes or fees.
Inventory Unit Unit of measure used in inventory tracking for the item. The measurement unit used to quantify the item, such as pieces or kilograms.
Search Key Search key or code to aid in finding the item in the system. A keyword or code that helps users quickly locate the item in the database.
